HGA’s Convergence® 2016 conference offers a broad range of exhibits for a wide variety of fiber arts. We invite you to enter your work in these juried exhibits that showcase the best in weaving, spinning, dyeing, basketmaking, and related fiber arts. Create a piece that embodies the Convergence® 2016 spirit. 

HGA's Juried Convergence® Exhibits

International juried exhibit of small-scale fiber pieces sponsored annually by the Handweavers Guild of America, Inc.

Juror: Monica Obniski

Entry Requirements: Work not to exceed 15 x 15 x 15 inches (37 cm). Digital images.
Entry Deadline: January 11, 2016

An international juried exhibit featuring lengths of constructed or embellished yardage.

Juror: Marcia Weiss

Entry Requirements: Minimum 18 inches (45.7 cm) width, 3 yards (2.7 m) length. 
Maximum 45 inches (1.143 m) width, 5 yards (4.572 m) length, 20 pounds (9.07 Kg) weight.
Digital images and 8 inch by 8 inch (20.3 cm square) handling piece.

International juried exhibit open to work created using any fiber arts technique

Entry Requirements: Any fiber technique. Maximum: 60 inches (1.524 meters) any dimension, 30 pounds (13.6 kg) weight.

  • Fashion Show and Exhibit - Moving ForwardProspectus ] 

International juried exhibit featuring one-of-a-kind fashion that shows understanding of the body and body movement, along with runway presence and overall suitability of the technique and/or materials. 

Juror: Sarah Eichhorn

Entry Requirements: Digital images and 8 inch by 8 inch (20.3 cm square) handling piece.
Entry Deadline: January 20, 2016


General information for all exhibits:
The juror will independently screen all images and make the preliminary selection of all work in the exhibition.
Entries will be evaluated on concept, design, technique, craftsmanship and creative exploration. 
Pieces must be originally conceived and created by the entrant. All work must be of exhibition quality, completed within the last two years (since January 2014) and not previously published in any national or international print publication.

    Photography guidelines are included on the individual prospectus.HGA awards will be presented in each exhibit. For each exhibit, first, second, and third place awards will be selected by the juror.
