Teaching and Learning through Correspondence
TLC Designed Especially for You!
|HGA's Teaching and Learning through Correspondence (TLC), a yearlong program of independent study, is designed for intermediate skill level HGA members who desire to know more about a specific area of weaving, spinning, dyeing or basketry. Write your own ticket for in-depth learning, determine your starting date, select your topic, and pursue your own goals with guidance and feedback from a knowledgeable advisor.
Teaching and Learning through Correspondence (TLC) is HGA's program of independent study for intermediate-level participants. Created in response to members' requests, TLC is a year-long independent study designed by you to meet your special needs and guided by an advisor selected for knowledge in your chosen area of study. It is for any HGA member who desires to know more about a specific area of weaving, dyeing, spinning or basketweaving.
TLC is an opportunity for you, as an HGA member, to write your own ticket for in-depth learning.
The program begins after you are matched with your mentor and continues for one year. To participate, complete the TLC application form and send $150 (USA residents; $160 outside the USA) to the HGA office. Members will be assigned a volunteer advisor who will assist in defining the year-long study goals, evaluate progress, and provide direction and support. Participants will also be responsible for the cost of their supplies, mailing to their advisor, and duplicates of samples to share with their advisor.
