HGA's Convergence 2010 Albuquerque
Annual Exhibit of Small Scale Works
Exhibit: July 21 - 25, 2010, Albuquerque Convention Center, Albuquerque, New Mexico
Small Expressions
is an annual international, juried exhibit featuring high quality, contemporary
small-scale works.
Small Expressions is sponsored by the Handweavers Guild of America, Inc., to showcase fiber art of a small scale not to
exceed 15 inches (38 cm) in any direction.
Juror: Rebecca A. T. Stevens
Rebecca Stevens is the Consulting Curator, Contemporary
Textiles at The Textile Museum in Washington, D.C. She is
the author of numerous articles on contemporary
American textiles and served as a juror for many exhibitions
of contemporary fiber art.
|
| Jurying |
The juror will independently
screen all images and make the preliminary selection of all work in
the exhibition.
Accepted work is subject to final approval
by the juror's representative after the actual work arrives in Albuquerque. Work that differs significantly from the slide or digital
image representing
it will be ineligible for the exhibition and returned
to the artist. Submission to Small Expressions 2010 implies that
the artwork represented on the slides
or digital images will be, if
chosen by the juror, available for the exhibition and that the artist
understands that all accepted work, without exception, must remain
for
the duration of the exhibition. |
| Eligibility |
Three pieces may be entered per artist.
Pieces exhibited in previous Small Expressions exhibits are not
eligible.
Submitted work is limited to fiber
techniques (interlaced, felted, paper, etc.).
All work must be of exhibition
quality, completed within the last two years (since January 2008)
and not previously published.
The size of the finished work may not
exceed 15 inches (38 cm) in any direction including any mounting or
